Frequently Asked Questions

Questions related to tubing and bar.

Q:How do you calculate the weight of a steel tube
A:The weight of a tube can be calculated using the following formula.  First determine the wall thickness.  Take the OD or outside Diameter and subtract the ID or inside diameter and divide by 2 to get the wall.   (OD-wall) x wall x 10.68 = Weight per Foot  Example to find the weight of a tube with a 7.0"OD x 6.0"ID (7.0-0.5) * 0.5 * 10.68 = 34.71 lbs per foot
